Christmas Events

At Christmas time Beverley Lions provide a Christmas tree with lights not only on the tree but also around the Market Cross.

The lights were switched on at 3pm, Saturday 26th November 2011.

There were carols sung by St Marys Primary School to the  music provided by Mr Peter Spencer. Music was also be provided by The Church Lads and Girls Brigade Band. The Mayor of  Beverley Councillor Peter Astell and Lion President Paul James carried out the switch on.

The service was be conducted by the Vicar of St Marys Church and the lesson read by Mrs Barbara James.

Bertie Beaver was also in attendance and sweets were distributed to the children.

On the following dates in December 10th, 11th and 17th we held the Light a Candle event.

This is where you can make a small donation and light a candle in memory of loved ones. At the same time, we provide you with a label so you can also write a greeting and hang it on the Christmas tree. Nearly 900 people did exactly that.

Also at this event you could enter the Christmas Hamper competition.
